Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find many of the questions we receive on a regular basis. It makes sense to us that if you haven’t had a house call pediatrician’s service, you may wonder what it entails.

t

Why a home visit pediatric Practice?

Understandably, your kids find the most comfort in their own home. You happen to find comfort when you do not find yourself sitting in a busy waiting room. Firstly, home visits provide convenience for you. Secondly, they prove a wonderful way for Dr. Wadley to see how your kids’ health is shaped in their home environment.

What is Direct primary care and why should I pay out of pocket?

As a common practice, insurance-based practices require large patient panels in order to keep their doors open and lights on. The direct primary care model allows Dr. Wadley to provide concierge level care to a smaller group of patients. As a member of 127 Pediatrics, your children receive high quality personalized care.

What can I expect When I sign up?

As a service, you can expect evidence based general pediatric care for your kids. Moreover, Dr. Wadley is able to do most anything that an office based pediatrician is able to do without the layers of people between you and her. Meanwhile, all of the members of 127 Pediatrics have direct access to the doctor around the clock.

Why A Membership Fee?

In short, the membership fee offers predictability. Therefore, you know what you will pay every month without any suprise costs or hidden fees.

Do I still need health insurance for my child?

As a practice, 127 Pediatrics does not provide health insurance for your child. It is recommended that you maintain health insurance for in the event of a catastrophic medical event. Secondly, as a solution, we recommend talking to a health care insurance broker if you have questions.
p

How do i get vaccines for my child?

We do not include vaccine costs as part of your child’s membership. You will find many ways to obtain vaccines in a cost effective manner. Additionally, with each family’s needs proving different, Dr. Wadley will work with you to find the best way to get vaccines for your kids.

Can you see my baby in the hospital?

Dr. Wadley does not care for newborns in the hospital. There is an amazing newborn hospital team that will care for your baby. Dr. Wadley will see your baby in the first 1-2 days after hospital discharge. As a result, lactation support is also part of the membership for every breastfeeding parent/newborn in the practice.

Can The Doctor see my child one time?

Moreover, 127 Pediatrics is built on continuity of care. Therefore, we do not offer one time sick or wellness visits. Your child needs to be a member of the practice in order to receive pediatric care. We do, however, offer lactation consults, breastfeeding medicine consults and medical ear piercing to families who do not have a membership with the practice.
q

What if my child is experiencing a life threatening condition?

Importantly, please call 911 and seek emergency medical services for your child. In summary, though we provide many helpful services, 127 Pediatrics does not provide emergency medical services.
